COVID -19 Your Safety is Our Primary Concern
We are all concerned about the current pandemic that we are all going through together. Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. If you are an existing patient, I’m sure you have seen our level of infection control during your visits to our office.
Our office will continue to follow all the infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), Ohio State Dental Board (OSDB), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) which include:
- Wearing new disposable gloves while treating each patient.
- Wearing a new mask that covers our mouth and nose as well as protective eye wear while treating each patient.
- We wash our hands with antibacterial soap or use hand sanitizer between every patient and multiple other times in the day.
- Wiping the treatment chair, countertops and cabinets in the room after we see each patient with the highest-level disinfecting towelettes designed for hospital and healthcare settings.
- Our instruments are scrubbed, bagged and run through a professional heat sterilizer and spore tested.
We will implement the additional guidelines recommended by these agencies to protect our patients and our staff: https://dental.ohio.gov/News/ohio-state-dental-board-covid-19-update-dental-offices-opening-on-may-12020
- Each staff member will have their temperature taken upon arrival at the office and then taken again during the day.
- Each staff member will be required to wear a mask throughout the day and change that mask between each patient.
- Each staff member will wear disposable gowns, hair coverings and shoe coverings.
- Rooms will not only be wiped down, the floor will be mopped after procedures.
- Door knobs will be wiped between patients.
- The waiting room will not have magazines or toys and chairs will be wiped down between patients. It is our desire that no patient needs to sit and wait.
- Each patient will wait in their car upon arrival and let the office know they have arrived.
- We are asking all new patients to print out patient registration and medical history and fill out these forms prior to coming to the office. If possible, please scan them into our office. If you are not able to do this, patient forms will be brought out to the car, gloves and a new pen will be given to the patient to fill out the forms, we ask that you keep that pen.
- Every patient will need to fill out the COVID-19 patient screening form at each appointment, we will provide gloves and a pen.
- Patient will be called in when it is their time to be seen.
- No family members (except one guardian when indicated) will be allowed in the building to wait while the patient is in the office.
- Patients are asked to wear a mask into the office.
- A glass window between reception area and patient will be maintained.
- Appointments will be managed to allow social distancing.
- All patients will be asked to rinse with an antimicrobial rinse before treatment.
Also, if any member of your family is feeling ill, please call our office to reschedule your appointment or your child’s appointment. Please do not come to the office if you are coughing, sneezing or have a fever.
If you develop Corona Virus within 14 days after being at our office it is necessary that you contact the office.
Finally and probably the most difficult, in order to minimize physical contact, we have asked our team members not to shake hands or give hugs.
Hopefully, one day this will all be behind us and we will be able to resume normal life but until then we appreciate your understanding and remember “we are all in the together”
