Periodontal Treatments

Why should I see a Periodontist?

Periodontists are experts in Periodontal disease (gum disease) treatment. Your periodontal disease may progress to the point where only a Periodontist may be able to help you. Periodontists are dentists that have graduated from a Periodontal specialty program. Their extra training includes 3 additional years beyond dental school in order to learn state-of-the-art techniques for diagnosing and treating periodontal diseases. Dr. Ira Levenson and Dr. Lori Little-Levenson have both graduated from The Ohio State University with their specialty degree in Periodontics.

Periodontists also receive extensive training on the placement and maintenance of dental implants. If you are missing one or more teeth, and are considering dental implants, let the team of Levenson Periodontal Associates help you decide if implants are right for you.

Drs. Ira and Lori will do a thorough review of your medical history and oral examination including oral cancer screening. You will feel confident and at ease by their calm chair side manner and their detailed and easy to understand explanation of their findings following your examination. Together a treatment plan that best suits you and your needs will be discussed.

What are the benefits of seeing a Periodontist?

There is now scientific evidence of an oral systemic connection between periodontal disease and several systemic conditions that can be life threatening. Periodontists are the expert authority on diagnosing and treating periodontal disease.
